We are sharing a post we did a while back and have gotten so much appreciation for that we had to bring it back. If there’s anything we’ve learned through the years of being jewelers’ girls it’s that your bling must look forever new! And of course not everyone has a ultrasound machine at home to clean their jewels so we’re [re]sharing our tips on how to make that bling shine shine shine!
If only Sheena got a dollar for every time someone asked her, “how do you keep your diamond rings so shiny?” The magic solution: good old warm soapy water (we use dish washing liquid has that fights grease and oil the most) and a dedicated toothbrush! The method: gently soak rings and/or other diamond jewelry in the bowl of soapy water (about two drops of dish-washing soap) for a few minutes and scrub gently with a toothbrush. Make sure to get the bristles of the toothbrush down under the prongs to take any dirt/scum off the bottom of the center diamond, as that is where most of the radiance come from. Then wash with lukewarm water, dry with a hair drier, and it’s as good as new! The toothbrush will not scratch the diamonds, so don’t stress! Check out the step by step tutorial below and let us know how it goes!
