As the beautiful Fall leaves cover our landscape, we can’t help but want to be outdoors with the kids. Other than enjoying playing, throwing and rolling in the colorful leaves, there are a ton of fun (NJ/NY) things that are going on right now that we wanted to share…
Liberty Science Center is starting their Dora and Diego Adventures.. which we cannot wait to take the kids to since they all LOVE Dora the Explorer! AND while you are there, they are launching the Titanic Artifact Exhibition – cannot wait to see it! Other awesome places in and around the area include Please Touch Museum in Philly, Storybook Land in Egg Harbor Township, NJ, and even the Halloween Spooktacular at Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA!
As always, local pumpkin picking is always a treat, and a lot of farms are having their Fall Harvest Weekends where there are tons of activities for kids and grown-ups alike. Enjoy picking fruit or going on a hayride, it’s always fun at the farm! Bring home some of their smaller pumpkins and let your kids have a pumpkin painting party! Or make a delicious homemade apple pie with your kiddos using apples that they picked themselves- what a fun way to engage them and have a yummy treat when you’re done!
Sheena recently took the boys to the Six Flags Great Adventure Safari and they all had a blast. They even got to feed the giraffes! Other activities for the cooler days to come are things like the Halloween Spooktacular at iPlay America in Freehold, NJ, or at the Discovery Museum in Cherry Hill, NJ, and even Bowcraft Amusement Park in Scotch Plains, NJ. The World of Wings, in Teaneck, NJ is a pretty awesome museum too where you go straight into a butterfly exhibit!
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City is around the corner too which we have heard is quite a spectacle to be seen!!!
So many things to see and do before the Christmas rush starts… Simply google ‘fall activities in my area’ and you will find a plethora of information on the web… Anyone have anything fun planned for the Fall that’s a must-do/must-see with kids?
