If only Sheena got a dollar for every time someone asked her, “how do you keep your diamond rings so shiny?”… Yes, she’s a jeweler and yes, she has a professional grade ultrasonic machine at the store that she can clean her diamonds in. However, through the years she’s learned a great and surefire way to clean her diamond rings and other diamond jewelry at home without all the professional stuff. The magic solution: good old warm soapy water and a dedicated toothbrush! The method: gently soak rings and/or other diamond jewelry in the bowl of soapy water (she uses two drops of dish-washing soap in water) for a few minutes and scrub gently with a toothbrush. Make sure to get the bristles of the toothbrush down under the prongs to take any dirt/scum off the bottom of the center diamond, as that is where most of the radiance come from. Then wash with luke warm water, dry with a hair drier, and it’s as good as new! The toothbrush will not scratch the diamonds, so don’t stress! Check out the step by step tutorial below and let us know how it goes!
