One of our favorite times of the year is finally approaching – Navratri! The colors, the dancing and most of all the music…it all makes our hearts happy! But the most fun comes with dressing up for this occasion! The great thing about garba is the tradition of it – the clothes, the dancing and of course, celebrating our culture. We love everything about “chaniya choli” (traditional wear of the garba festivities in Gujrat) – the workmanship, the flair and the comfort – it all provides the perfect outfit to dance the night away!
The three of us love our traditional chaniya cholis, the modern ones and the ones that fit right inbetween, like this one! Bhandani (a tie-dye flowery type of pattern) is a staple in the design of chaniya choli. Of course you’ll always find that we tend to add a little character to the blouse, so usually we mess around with the design on the back as that is most visible. Adding the traditional silver accessories make the entire look complete. We are going to be staging our Navratri fashion on the blog this month, so be sure to stayed tuned.
